You can’t uninstall IE … it’s an integral part of Windows … just don’t use it … delete the icons if that makes you feel better

I saw some of the answers and it is not true that you can’t uninstall it. You can uninstall it but I do NOT recommend you to do so till you get another Internet Browser. Like Mozilla Fire Fox

That is where you go. IE is so integrated into Windows that is almost impossible to get rid of. The files are hidden so finding them is just almost impossible as well. I say just delete the shortcuts and ignore it. Just keep installing all of the updates. Even if you are not using it, I am sure it can still be exploited without patching IE because the way it is integrated into Windows.

Here’s the stuff to delete if you do it manually. I’ve never tried that, so it might cause Windows not to start, I’m not sure.

Internet Explorer is the file C:\WINDOWS\IEXPLORE.EXE You should probably also remove its registry pieces, which would be at locations HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software \Microsoft\Internet Explorer and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software \Microsoft\Internet Explorer.

It’s not totally integrated any more, that was one of the things Microsoft was forced to change during the anti-trust case. It specifically had to be uninstallable.
