It depends, If its a minor issue, like the CPU or GPU are loss and they just got to tighten it back down then you most likely will get you old system back. However if it’s something major you’ll get a replacement system, and that replacement system can be someone else’s or a reserve system. A reserve system is basically a system they got from the plant but instead of shipping it out to the market they kept it just in case something like this would happen. I know a friend who sent in a first gen. 360 and he got the new falcon cpu, hdmi system.

I only got the Ring of Death on my halo 3 disc, which is irrepairable. I’d say they prolly take the whole thing apart, see whats wrong (since they probably have a thousand just like it waiting to be fixed) and fix it. they wouldnt tell you because then microsoft would lose all their money. Haha

they take your system, and usually give you a different, refurbished xbox 360. they have so many systems that come in for repair, they just give you a different xbox that has the new cpu on it, rarely do they keep any of your original core components, they open your xbox, rip out the guts, put the refurbed board and drive into your case and ship it back….

sometimes they even send you a diff. case, my buddy always kept his dust free and spotless, and they sent him one that looked like it was stored in a dirt shack..he was so miffed

    Hi

The red rings of death effects the motherboard chips the GPU and the CPU, and also the soldering that holds them together. What they do is resolder the board so the connection is good again.

    Hope this helps!

do you really thought they will repaire it?!!

what they do that they Replace the Motherboard and nothing else!!

they have millions of Faulty xboxs if they are going to repair each one of them that is going to take ages
