I always wait for the game to save. It has nothing to do with me turning the game off when the game is saving at all.
Maybe it’s my memory card or PS2?
The memory card usually only gets corrupted when you turn the console off as it is saving or loading or removing the memory card during the same situations. To prevent this simply don’t do it but if you do only the game you were saving or loading should get corrupted, not the other save data.
Try formatting the card and start fresh and shut down the right way.
